What Peec does well

Peec (Berlin, ~$29M raised) tracks a defined prompt set across answer engines and is unusually clear about competitor comparison — you can see who is winning your prompts rather than only how you are doing. Its pricing is honest and legible: you buy prompts.

Where prompt-count pricing stops making sense

Fifty prompts is a lot. Most single-product companies have somewhere between eight and twenty questions a buyer would genuinely type, and padding the list to fill a plan makes the report worse, not better — you end up averaging your real questions together with ones nobody asks.

The other thing prompt-count pricing hides is engines. Fifty prompts on two engines and fifty on five are very different amounts of measurement at the same headline number. Peec is explicit about this — every tier below Enterprise asks you to choose three models — and it is worth checking the same line on any plan you compare it against. Profound’s $99 Starter, for one, is fifty prompts on ChatGPT and nothing else.

The alternatives

• Semrush AI Toolkit / Ahrefs Brand Radar. If you already pay for either suite, you may already own AI visibility reporting. Check before you buy anything.
• Profound — from $99/mo. Up, not sideways: the best-funded product in the category, with an entry tier that covers ChatGPT only and one seat.
• Otterly.AI — $29/mo Lite, $189–489 above it. Lite is fifteen prompts on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, which is the cheapest way into this category from an established vendor. The Standard and Premium tiers are agency-shaped, with the seats and client workspaces that implies. Claude and Gemini are add-ons at every tier.
• AthenaHQ — free tier, then ~$295/mo. The Starter plan is agency-shaped and priced for the strategy work it bundles alongside the measurement. Before that, Essential is free across all five engines with unlimited members — credit-metered at $25 of free credit, so it runs out rather than running on. If you only want to find out whether the engines mention you at all, start there and pay nobody, including us.

The question to ask before switching anything

Not “which tool has more features”, but “how often does it ask, and does it tell me when it could not?”. A single run of a prompt is unreliable — repeat the same question and the cited set moves, with only about 2.2% of domains recurring across three runs. A tool that reports a rate limit as a zero will have you fixing something that was never broken.

Every CiteRank report states asked-versus-answered per engine, because “not cited” and “could not ask” are different facts and reading one as the other is the most expensive mistake in this category.
